Our History
NeighborWorks® New Horizons strengthens neighborhoods by developing quality affordable homes and supporting community building initiatives in New Haven, Fairfield, Southern Hartford and New London Counties. Founded in 1992, NeighborWorks® New Horizons has developed and manages 650+ housing units of affordable rental properties and 12 commercial units where residents have a leadership role. NeighborWorks® New Horizons has a staff of 32+ under the leadership of Executive Director, Tom Cruess and an eleven member Board of Directors, led by Board President Edward Seibert. Our Board Members are drawing from the following five sectors:

NeighborWorks® New Horizons is recognized both by the City of New Haven’s Livable City Initiative and the State of Connecticut’s Department of Housing as a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO). NWNH is also designated as one of Connecticut Housing Finance Authority’s approved Homebuyer Counseling agencies.
