Our History
NeighborWorks® New Horizons strengthens neighborhoods by developing quality affordable homes and supporting community building initiatives in New Haven, Fairfield, Southern Hartford and New London Counties. Founded in 1992, NeighborWorks® New Horizons has developed and manages 650+ housing units of affordable rental properties and 12 commercial units where residents have a leadership role. NeighborWorks® New Horizons has a staff of 32+ under the leadership of Executive Director, Tom Cruess and a nine member Board of Directors, led by Board President Tanya Segel. Our Board Members are drawing from the following five sectors:

NeighborWorks® New Horizons is recognized both by the City of New Haven’s Livable City Initiative and the State of Connecticut’s Department of Housing as a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO). NWNH is also designated as one of Connecticut Housing Finance Authority’s approved Homebuyer Counseling agencies.
