NWNH partners with the non-profit LEAP to provide the children of our New Haven residents with free afterschool, Saturday, and summer programming. Since 1992, LEAP has served over 10,000 children with thousands of college and high school student counselors. LEAP provides children with a literacy-based curriculum, as well as classes in the arts, computer science, swimming, athletics, camping, cooking, and team building. LEAP is community-based and operates out of donated space in five public schools, as well as its own comprehensive community center with a swimming pool, gym, dance studio, teaching kitchen, and classrooms.
